Help us make this the best event possible

Virginia Donkey Rescue is hosting our first large fund and awareness raising event, this October 2nd. Donktoberfest 2016 is more than a good time with a fun twist on an old theme. It's a chance for Virginia Donkey Rescue to bring awareness to the public on a large scale.

We hope to share the plight of Virginia's donkeys with our audience as well as the wonderful world of donkeys with event attendees. As such, we didn't want to exclude anyone from attending by charging admission. The broader the audience we have, the better it is for the donkeys. However, producing events like this still costs money, which is why we are seeking sponsors and supporters.

Bold Rock Hard Cider, has graciously donated use of their meadow and will be donating a portion of cider sales that day. Nelson County is helping to promote the event using their well established connections and channels. Other corporate/business sponsors are being approached and a few have signed up as sponsors so far.

We are also seeking individual "Supporters" with a philanthropic mind set and a love of donkeys, to help get to us to our final goal. We've set up a supporter donation page with more information. Please help spread the word about Donktoberfest, and help us make this the best event it can be. Doing well this first year will ensure that we can make this an annual event, and grow it to reach many more people and help more donkeys in the years to come.
